I have chosen a very sleek and futuristic design for my console, because it is supposed to represent how the console is pioneering in console technologies by implementing the best of the best in terms of hardware, software and general design. The red LED lights are fully changeable, the parts don’t even need to be replaced, you can change the colour of the LED lights through the System Options on the operating system software. Unfortunately, the console has to be quite large due to the hardware, but it’s not so big that it can’t sit comfortably on a desk or under a TV

Hardware

  • Intel i7- 4770k Quad-Core Processor @ 3.5GHz clock speed. I have chosen this processor as it is one of the best processors out on the market right now. 4-cores and 8-threads allow for the system to utilise the power to perform better with games. Games will use this power to run at a lot higher framerates and also have better graphics, more open worlds and generally a lot higher performance.
  • Two nvidia GTX 780ti GPUs 3GB GDDR5 RAM, @ 875 MHz. I have chosen this graphics card because currently it is the best on the market. It’s extremely high clock rate allows it to render the highest graphics quickly and efficiently, and the 3GB GDDR5 allows for the console to have every game it plays run at  the highest graphics possible.
  • 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM 1600Mhz. Considered one of the best RAMs you can get right now for a good price, the Corsair Vengeance makes for better gaming performance for games that need the extra RAM.
  • Corsair CX750 750W PSU. Needed to support the powerful hardware in the system .
  • 2TB HDD for the best storage of games, music, videos and anything else you want.
  • 1TB SDD to store games or software that you believe need faster loading times.
  • Blu-Ray disc-drive so the user can enjoy both DVDs and Blu-Ray discs on this player. Also allows for games to be stored on a single disc as opposed to numerous discs due to the memory of a Blu-Ray disc

Software & User Interface

UI

  • The user can cycle through the bottom 5 buttons using the official ‘Giant’ controller, a mouse and keyboard, or any other controller providing that they have the drivers when plugged into the USB. The console’s operating system works very much like a PCs operating system, where almost anything is compatible as long as there are places you can install the drivers from, either a website or pre-packaged with the device you’re trying to use.
  • The operating system can play movies, music and games. You can simply switch to each ‘category’ by using the buttons at the bottom. For example, if you want to watch a movie, you can click on the movie button and the dashboard will change into a more movie-friendly layout. Music can also be played in the background of gaming, to enhance the user experience.
  • You can see the software version in the bottom left-hand corner of the dashboard. You will be informed if the software needs updating if you are connected to the internet, otherwise you can update manually by clicking the number of the version of the dashboard, or you can press the options button and there will be an option to check for updates there.
  • Due to the support of the hardware, the software should run flawlessly on the console, without any error or slowness.
